Time Break Chronicles (Steam EA): 16 bit RPG-like game with over 100 characters, and it's a roguelite. It's a pretty chill game that just has a vibe, and I hear the story and characters are great all the way through.ĥ. You are exploring space looking for a substance called lumen - you will meet a ton of characters, you will build up your little ship from junk to something spectacular. Puzzles are pretty simple so far, the music is S-Tier, and the characters and story are very interesting. Opus: Echo of Starsong: This is described as a narrative puzzle adventure and that's spot on from the bit I've played. Also, the soundtracks have been redone and are godlike!Ĥ. FF5 is coming by end of this year and 6 next year, and if you liked old school FF/RPGs then this is an easy recommendation. 1 I hear is good too but have yet to play it. Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters: I've played 3 and 4 and have been having a blast with both. This game is not easy and has a metric ton of challenging puzzles so beware if you aren't into those. Action RPG combat, a huge world, crafting, dungeons, skill trees and levels, great music, incredible pixel art, and a LOT LOT of puzzles. If you like.2D Zelda-likes and puzzles, this is great.

CrossCode: This came out of early access awhile back but got a new content patch earlier this year. There is an easy difficulty that will let you lessen this timer and make combat easier - I might actually restart on this as I love the game but the timer is stressful (there is an item you can extend anyone's timer with but I'm not sure how common it is)Ģ.

Including shopkeeps and NPCs with quests etc. Anyone can and will die if they reach 0 on their timer. The big unique thing is that everyone in the game is on a death timer. Combat has a stamina bar and is not faceroll easy. It's a game with cyborgs and cyberpunkish post apocalypse settings. It's a little like Hyper Light Drifter I guess. Just released and it's on Gamepass if you have that. I buy a TON of indie games and there are just.so.eat ones lol.Īnyways, you've missed a lot so there are lots of fun times coming your way soon :)ġ.

If you've played Ys 7 or 8 and liked them, this is an easy recommend.ĭo you want more? I could really dive into indies on PC if you want some of that. The graphics are not great, but on PC look good enough. Battles are fast and fun, music is A+, story is interesting. You have a party, but this time you are mostly in 1 big Prison City and are doing things in and around there. It takes things from 7 and 8 and refines them. I have this on PC and it runs great there and is a really fun game. It's a shock release for me that I simply wasn't prepared for :)ġ0. I can't recommend this enough if this sounds good to you.
BEST 2D RPG GAMES WITH SKILL TREES FULL
There is a lot of story going on here, with a big world to explore and towns, dungeons, puzzles, cooking like BOTW, minigames, it's just chock full of goodness. There is a LOT of exposition though just to warn you. This has what is some of the best animation and graphics I've seen for a game of this type, ever.

Eastward: OMG another game like old school Zelda. Lots going on, but still chill and really fun. This has combat, crafting, exploration, questing, and each town in the game has a ranking that you are trying to raise by doing things for them. It's top down/isometric 2D adventure RPG? You are in a kingdom of food related "people" and the map is set up like Link to the Past. Garden Story: A game that is hard to describe lol. It is hilarious, fun, brisk and totally worth if you like this style game.Ĩ. Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion: a 4-5 hours Zelda Link to the Past like game with turnips. Get lost in a ton of content with a fun battle system, a good story, and lots of subsystems. It's 60fps on PS5, and it's just fucking amazing imo. The game sings at 60fps and is a much better experience nowĦ. Final Fantasy 7 Intergrade: If you have a PS5, 60FPS with a new DLC you can buy with Yuffie. Play this is you want a survival game that can last hundreds of hours (or at least 100).ĥ. Also has coop/multiplayer but I've only played solo. Do you like big open world survival games with crafting building dungeons bosses boats etc etc? Hugely moddable and tons of content right now - it's a LOT to take in, but once you get used to it it's just.sublime.

I'm still playing it but it really is GOAT tier to meĤ. Mass Effect Legendary Edition: If you like Mass Effect games or Scifi or whatever, this trilogy is great. I've only played 4 hours but it has been great so far.ģ. Ender Lilies: A Metroidvania with a very, very moody atmosphere and a fun battle system. A Short Hike: Yes it came out last year but if you haven't played this it's 4-6 hours of pure bliss and one of my favorite games of the last few yearsĢ.
